What a Friendly Town

“What a friendly town” is an often heard comment from our visitors as they stroll around Oswestry’s bustling streets. And it’s true! Whether you visit the weekly markets or to browse the interesting mix of small independent shops, a warm welcome is sure to make your visit quite special. Shopping isn’t the only local activity though! Discover our industrial heritage with a visit to the Cambrian Heritage Railway or Town Museums found in the beautiful Guildhall, or follow the Wilfred Owen trail to find out more about the famous war poet’s childhood in Oswestry. Guided Tours of the town can be enjoyed all summer too. Stop and admire the life size statue of Wilfred within our colourful award winning park. To really get to know Oswestry and plan your visit, make our Town Tourist Information Centre the first stop on your day out. You’ll find it in Castle View, Arthur Street, SY11 1JR.
