On the 9th of May the Indoor Market was officially re-launched following the extensive work done throughout the building. The 8th Earl of Powis, Dr. John Herbert, was invited to visit Oswestry Markets to unveil a new plaque to commemorate the occasion. Various people were invited to celebrate the occasion including the competition initiator Mr. Mike Coppock and the High Sheriff. The press also came on the day to help promote the occasion.

The new blue and white canopies are now in place and have really improved on the visual impact of the hall, and ties the whole colour scheme together. The new lift is also being well used, as are the new downstairs disabled toilets. It has been a long road to completion but certainly one well worth it, as we now have a much improved market facility which we are now all able to build upon.

The move of the Fruit and Vegetable stall to the front of the Indoor Market is now complete and already the stock of the Fruit and Vegetable supplier is much fresher and better stocked. The next stage is to improve on the presentation of the stall but overall this is a vast improvement on what was there previously and their improved takings mirror this.

The trader, Bob Goodall, has now added to his unit by introducing a vinyl record section which is a product making a big comeback and will hopefully attract a younger clientele to the market. The new bag retailer has also created a well presented stall, so overall the standards of the Indoor Market are lifting throughout the building.
