Mayor Opens Garden of Remembrance

The Mayor, Councillor Sandy Best officially opened the Garden of Remembrance at Oswestry Cemetery today and she was joined by her fellow Councillors from the Cemetery Management Group.

This is an important facility for Oswestry residents and the Council have invested time and money in trying to achieve a peaceful oasis for families and loved ones.

With more and more people choosing cremation rather than burial the Council had to respond and the new Garden will provide residents with a choice of where they want their ashes interred.

The garden was designed by John Challoner and built by local contractor Jones Brothers of Weston Rhyn with expert input from Nick Richards of David Davies and Sons.
