INTRODUCTION TO THE NEW MAYOR OF OSWESTRY – COUNCILLOR DUNCAN KERR

Councillor Kerr, who represents the Castle Ward in Oswestry, lives in Park Avenue and was elected to the Town Council in 2013. He is Vice-chair of the Finance and General Purposes Committee and sits on the Youth Services and Climate Change Working Groups. He has had a forty year career in local government with professional qualifications in Environmental Health, Housing Management and Social Work.

He has a strong interest in the arts, and in 2012 converted the Hermon Chapel on Chapel street into an arts centre. He is also a keen cyclist and runner and participated in both the Oswestry 10k and Midnight bike ride last year.

He will be supported by consort, Councillor Olly Rose and will be raising money for his chosen charity Shropshire Domestic Abuse Service
