Great news for Oswestry shoppers, businesses and visitors following the Town Councils decision to offer free parking at its car parks on Saturdays in December as well as free travel on the town centre bus service operated by Tanat Valley Coaches.

The scheme runs on the 4th, the 11th and 18th of December and covers:

  • The Horsemarket, Central and Smithfield Street Car Parks;
  • The 400. 402, 403 and 404 town service.

Arren Roberts, Town Clerk said, "We are pleased to be able to offer the traditional free car parking this year and to also provide free bus travel on the town centre service operated by Tanat Valley Coaches. We are keen to encourage people to shop in Oswestry and spend their money locally. We are hopeful that the free bus travel will encourage local residents to hop on close to home and have an enjoyable day in town with everything that it has on offer. Promotional leaflets and the timetable will be available and we, and Tanat Valley will be promoting the initiative watch out for posts on social media."

Chris Chadd, Managing Director at Tanat Valley Coaches said "We are really pleased to be working with the Council on this initiative. We hope that it will encourage those who don't normally use a bus to see how convenient they are. We have invested heavily in our new fleet and with regular pickups and drop offs we think it is an attractive and modern service."

Further information and timetable will be available on social media
