The Town Council is delighted at the feedback it has received regarding its role in the visit of the torch to Oswestry and also the Diamond Jubilee celebrations that followed.
Despite the inclement weather, the Oswestry in Bloom Committee enjoyed a positive feedback from the judges on the 4th July when they visited Oswestry.
On the 9th of May the Indoor Market was officially re-launched following the extensive work done throughout the building. The 8th Earl of Powis, Dr. John Herbert, was invited to visit Oswestry Market
The Borderland Rotary Club has confirmed that the plans to hold a Jubilee themed parade on the 2nd June were in place.
Shropshire Council confirmed that the Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra will be performing on the 1st June on the Osfest stadium.
Following the 4.30pm Sunday service St. Oswald’s Church will be holding an open lunch outside their premises and down the Broad Walk.
Once the parade is finished the celebrations will then move into Cae Glas Park.
Oswestry Lions confirmed they have located a suitable area on Parc Uchaf Farm to hold the beacon lighting.
The Treble Niners have confirmed their availability on the night of the 5th June to conclude the celebrations with a firework display at Brogyntyn.
