It has been an uncertain few months, but we are determined that the full Festival will go ahead in February. Oswestry Town Council are fully supportive of this, and we have been discussing certain adjustments which we may have to make. These may include restricting audience numbers, plenty of hand sanitiser, roping off some pews in the churches, and possibly moving some of the larger ensemble and choral classes online. The safety of everyone involved is of paramount importance, and we shall keep you informed at every stage of the way as the months progress.
The closing date for entries is Friday 22nd January 2021, so please make sure you get them to us in good time. Once again, we have decided not to increase entry fees and we are very grateful to the town council for their continued financial support. When the programme has been produced next February, there will be an increase in the price of programmes, but they can be downloaded for free.
If you choose to use one of our official accompanists, do please ensure that you send the piano music with your entry form. Unfortunately, in recent years, there has been an increasing number of entries where the necessary piano music has not been sent with the entry form. We may need to refuse entry if this continues to happen as it necessitates a huge amount of extra work trying to track down the music and get it to the accompanist in good time.
Please remember that you will need to request permission for leave of absence from your child's school if their classes take place during school hours.
