Good bye to Council Stalwart

The Mayor Councillor Paul Milner made a presentation to Councillor Cynthia Hawksley at the Civic Dinner to mark her quarter of a century of service to the Council as she prepares to stand down at the elections in May.

Monday 24 April 2017

The Mayor confirmed " It is always sad as Elections come around to see long standing and supportive Councillors leave the Town Council. This year we say goodbye to Cynthia Hawksley after a long and distinguished term of service.

Cynthia has acted as Chairman of Committees, been a willing volunteer, and has served in the office of Mayor.

Cynthia is widely recognised for her role as Chairman of Oswestry Youth Music Festival and I am delighted that she is going to continue supporting the Festival post Council.

I know that all my colleagues will be very sad to see both this stalwart of Oswestry Town Council stand down. She have given amazing service, dedication and passion to this town and it is only right at this Civic Dinner that we make a proper recognition of that long service.
