A fantastic programme of PICNIC IN THE PARK events on Sundays, every fortnight to celebrate the Cae Glas Park Centenary - with a variety of superb local Brass Bands.

BLAST OFF WITH THE SPACE HOP THIS SUMMER!

Oswestry Library and Oswestry Town Market are working together to offer primary school children some out-of-this world fun during the school summer holidays.

During the first weekend of the summer holidays and in the weeks afterwards, children can pop into the library and sign up for the annual summer reading challenge, this year called the Space Hop. They will be given a collector poster to get started, plus a hologram card, and will be challenged to read 6 books over the summer holidays. There are scratch ‘n’ sniff stickers to collect and special prizes such as a meerkat bookmark  and a glow-in-the-dark space mobile.

Children completing the challenge will be awarded a certificate and invited to collect a medal at a special ceremony in the October half-term.

To add to the fun, children can collect an entry form from the library  and then pop in to Oswestry Indoor Market for an exciting treasure hunt with the chance to win a Space Hopper, a telescope, or an amazing space meerkat!

Other free events taking place over the holiday include Alien Invasion sessions at  the following libraries: 

• Gobowen Library  August 3rd  11am-12noon
• Ellesmere Library  August 3rd   2pm-3pm
• Oswestry Library   August 6th   2pm-3pm

So don't get bored this summer holiday - get down to your library and indoor market and take off with the Space Hop!
